Q:
How come my screen shows weird characters?

A:
You are trying to view content created from Unicode font. You have to have this font installed in your computer for viewing the contents on this site.  You have to do the following for the best viewing experience:

USP10.dll / Unicode Font:

1. Download the latest version of the usp10.dll file. [download is here]

2. Unzip the usp10.zip folder to get usp10.dll and aAvarangal.ttf font.

3. Go to the Windows folder and find the file named usp10.dll (usually in the System and/or System32 sub folder). Rename the file to say usp10.old.

4. Place the newly downloaded usp10.dll file in the same folder as the renamed file is now usp10.old file.

5. Take the aAvarangal.ttf font from the existing usp10.zip folder and place the same on the font folder in the control panel. This will help you to view the Tamil text on your system.

6. Re start the computer now.

Linux OS:

1. Download Tamil Unicode font from the web with the help of Tamilinux yahoo groups or (Click)

2. Install Tamil Unicode Font

3. Copy the font into /usr/share/fonts/ta folder.

4. Type fc-cache

5. Open your console (Terminal) and type the following.

6. MOZ_ENABLE_PANGO=1 firefox
